Investee Information

AngelLink considers businesses with strong potential for high growth that are at the 'seed' or 'start up' stage of development for validation in the stage gate decision process.

A business at the 'seed' stage of development is defined as requiring investment to enable development, testing and preparation of a product or service to the point where it is feasible to start business operations.

'Start up' stage is defined as requiring investment to enable actual business operations to get underway. This includes further development of product(s) and initial production and marketing.

Businesses in the following industry are not eligible as investee companies unless they are producing an innovation which might be used by these sectors:

  • Financial intermediaries
  • Property development
  • Retailing
  • Mining
  • Hospitality

Businesses will be eligible if:

  • The majority of their employees (by number) and assets (by value) are in New Zealand at the time of investment
  • Investment will advance the potential for commercialisation of innovation
  • Business owners are prepared to issue some shareholding of their business to investors (shareholding to be determined by negotiation)
  • Shares are NOT publicly traded on any exchange at the time of investment
  • Any security given for debt is limited to the assets of the investee company in preference to debt secured by personal guarantees of the founders

If you have an opportunity or invention you would like AngelLink to consider for entry into the  investee process, please complete the online Non-Confidential Application Form as stage one.

If you have received approval to move to the next stage, and you have received your logon details, you will find the required documents that you will need to complete here.
